let the music play!

I've gone over every detail of this wedding about 100 times but I cannot, for the life of me, get a playlist done. Wanna be part of our day without breaking a sweat? Suggest some songs!!!

save the date!

So we had every intention of sending save-the-dates, but with planning for the kid's birthday party, we dropped the ball and never got around to sending them out. But I think that they're so awesome, I had to share these with you anyway. Our friend Elizabeth over at Please Note, helped us out by getting these ready and printed. We had everything we needed, but time.

Alas, here we are and here it is!!!

seating? check!

As this wedding gets closer and closer and as I get farther and farther from being as prepared as I should be, we finally came up with a game plan. Maybe we should've done it sooner? Probably. But aren't things so much more exciting when you wing it?! Not really! At first, we considered renting the furniture for the reception, but after getting a few price quotes, we decided to get crafty and make what we could in an effort to cut costs. Since I envisioned benches as the seating for our backyard wedding reception, and because it appeared that these would be the easiest things to build ourselves (or more like himself).  Presto!

I'm considering making some cushions so that they're more comfortable.

crafternoons* are upon us!

Now that we've survived Ari's birthday without incident, its time to plan a few crafting sessions and get ready for this wedding! If you've planned your own wedding, then you know that there are a ton of details. However, I've decided not to let them get the best of me, and so we're just goin' with flow. Any tips, pointers or advice? I'm open! Here are a few little goodies that caught my eye and will probably be incorporated into the celebrations.

centerpieces
favors with munchies

pom poms for the sweethearts nook
There's going to be a lot of DIY involved with these nuptials and I don't want to give all of them away just yet.

I'll be sending out emails to those of you who will be participating in the craft-a-paloozas.

a brief history

It all started one summer, when a girl named Jess and a boy named Jack met on a dance floor, on a Saturday night they'd never forget. She was dancing, he was dancing, although not together. He fixed that with a simple suggestion, "we should dance." So they danced and they laughed and they danced some more. At the end of that summer night, phone numbers were exchanged and they parted ways. But little did they know, this night would be the beginning of the life that they'd share together.

Fast forward through the countless laughs that were laughed and the endless dances that were danced, to an addition to their duo.
Enter Ari, July 2010

And so now, that girl named Jess and that boy named Jack are celebrating the life they'll share and the love that has grown, this summer, on a dance floor, on a Saturday night that they'll never forget.

inspiration

when yr planning yr big day, the first most exciting decision is WHAT COLORS yr going to use. naturally, i took the role of executive wedding planner early on. do i regret it? i'll keep you posted. i instantly looked to the mother of all crafts, the grand poo-bah of all things handmade, martha stewart, and took a page out of her book. literally.
we're going with pale blue and bone. i think these colors are a good choice for the end of summer - intro to fall.
